WAKE UP!

Here's one for you Biblical Literalists out there:

God did not say "Let there be light". That is a translation. In fact that is a many-times-removed translation. And a poor one. In fact that is a many-times-removed-poor-translation.

God can't be quoted. When God spoke our universe came into existence. You can't capture that in any human language.

So let go your literalism. The Bible is not the Word of God. It is a poor and pale attempt to capture the uncapturable, written by well-meaning but imperfect and ignorant dead people.

Look out into this universe. Look through the lens of science. You will still find truth...because God didn't just start speaking the truth with the Bible.

In reality you only have what God gave you to discern truth from lie: your mind, your reasoning mind, your heart, your spirit, your love, your humility, your loneliness, your existence.

Or maybe you're afraid to see the earth going around the sun. Maybe you're afraid to be so small in this vast universe for God to even care, to even pay attention. Maybe you're afraid to know the universe is billions of years old, not thousands. Maybe it all makes you too distant from God.

Well, God is that big my friend, only bigger, and he has time for you, and me, and still time to spare.
